Hello all
I feel i need to Rant been to hospital to day and seen my consultant and he say how are you not sure what he was expecting but i told him I was fed up to the back teeth with Pain when I walk or try and pick somthing up, he looked at me and said how do you feel in your self and i said i just feel the same, so then he said well if this is how you feel we will take you off embrel and then see if that is knocking you down too far. and he said have some Xrays and come back in 6wks. i think he thought because my RA factor in my blod had gone down i was going to say I felt better, but has my husband will tell you every time i move in bed i yell out with pain and this leads to broken sleep. so if anyone has any ideas i will be willing to listen and have a go as i am really fed up with it.
sorry for the rant but i feel like crap at the minute.
keep warm sleep well
Audrey.

Hi Audrey
Have they looked at whether your issues are RA or are they fibromyalgia related at all? It could be that the RA is responding but there could be another condition at play. Fibro comes to mind because its fairly common to have with the RA.
Also, try to get that pain better controlled by REGULAR co-codamol (or similar) and then the big guns on the top of it.
You sound very low and that cant be helping things either.
with kind support

Hello Audrey
Sorry that your meeting with the Consultant did not go too well.
I hope you manage over the next few weeks. As Jenni has said take the old pain killers. I am on a load at the mo. I take tramadol at the mo they help me.
GP should be able to help you

hi Audrey,
what a terrible appointment you had,
i would be far from pleased.
can only suggest as Rose has perhaps re-consider your pain killers,
have you also got contact with your Rheumy Nurse, mine's worth her weight in gold and will always contact me back in 24 hours.
sorry i can't be of more help,
Suzanne x

Hi Audrey Sorry that you had such a rubbish appt! We wait so long to see somebody and then it seems like a waste of time! I would definitely go and see your GP to get some decent pain relief.. what are they going to give you instead of Enbrel? Wish I could be more help.. So come on and have a rant anytime! Take care Love Ceri xx

Hi Audrey,
Have they taken you off enbrel and left you with nothing? Why not ask your GP for some stronger painkillers to take at night? Then you may be able to get the sleep that you badly need. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Hi Audrey. Sorry you are so bad right now. I was thinking same as Doreen. Surely you don't have to come off enbrel and wait at least 6 weeks to start something else. Can you try something like camomile or ginger before you go to bed. I know it is a long shot but they are both very relaxing and might help you sleep a bit better.

I was told if I came off Enbrel for three weeks, it apparently has a short half-life (the time it takes to get out of your system), it would give a clearer picture of the state of the active RA. Not likely said I ... I'll open the box and take the 7.5mg methotrexate with the Enbrel! Thank you very much! Lyn x

hi everyone
thanks for your thoughts and thank you for listening to my rant, yes the consultaion has left me on pain killers (tramadol and paracetomol) and yes i have got fybro as well so not sure if this has taken over and that is what is causeeing the pain I am a bit clearer now that i have spoken to the help line and the rummy nurse has said the reason he has done the x rays because it could be the fybro that is causing all the pain and he will look at differant and sronger pain killers she said, why did he not say that from the start.
even though i feel better informed i still feel crap with the pain, and at some points end up in tears with it but i am going to try and get an appoinment with the GP and see if there is anything she can help me with.
thanks again everyone
Audrey.
